Meishi Sonobe is the President of AIC.
Mr Sonobe has an impressive academic record. He graduated from Keio University with a BA in Economics, was an exchange scholar at Stanford University and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Mr Sonobe has been director, advisor, chairman of several successful companies in Japan and New Zealand, including Representative Director of Exxon Mobil Japan.
Currently he is the Chairman of the Japan Beachhead Advisory Board for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, Chairman KK GTMS, Director Automotive Technologies and an Industrial Advisor to AUT Business School. Mr Sonobe is a member of the Institute of Directors (New Zealand), the Northern Club, the Foreign Correspondents Club (Japan) and the Australia and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce.
As a bridge-builder between cultures, Meishi Sonobe epitomises the aspirations of AIC students. He has attended top universities and has a successful global career. He is in an excellent position to encourage and inspire AIC students to achieve their goals and make a real contribution to their communities and the world.
